About me
Experience made me, self-evaluation grew me, but Jesus saved me.
Where My Journey Began
I remember sitting in history class in high school and instead of listening to the teacher I wrote a short story about an alien. I do not remember much about the story, but I do remember the girl who sat in front of me read it and said it was good.
That experience may have fueled my desire to write, but I believe it all began in first grade. Thanks to a monkey, an assignment, and a field trip to the zoo. I enjoyed doing that little report which included drawing the monkey. No, I am definitely not an illustrator for those with curious minds. Come to think of it, my mother may still have that report somewhere.
A Little Bit More
My husband, Wesley, and I live in West Tennessee, but dream of living in the mountains. I have two grown children, Justin and Abby, and our dog, Bear. For about nine months in 2016, we had seven dogs. My sweet babies, Jack, Jill, Buddy, Rush, Rollie, and Harley have since passed and we miss them terribly. We are active in our church, The Hope Center. Read More
In September 2018 I was working three part-time jobs. My husband suggested I work one of the jobs and take the other two days to write. I jumped at the opportunity but had no idea where to begin or what to do. In October, while looking at the Writer’s Market Guide for ideas, a member of the library staff asked if I was a writer. I told him I was only just beginning. He told me about NaNoWriMo. Being the naïve writer wannabe, I told him to sign me up and I would see him in November. Although I did not “win”, I continued writing my story into 2019. Then I revised and revised and revised. What a learning experience for sure. I also participated in NaNoWriMo 2019, 2020, and 2021. So, here I am in 2024 looking forward to my next chapter as a published author. I hope you will join me on my journey.
It would be my honor to hear from you. Tell me your story!
