Insider Information

Hey friends! It has been some start to September! Some good, some not so good.

On September 2nd, Gidesha City, book 2 in the Evie Series was released. So many of you reached out to tell me that you ordered it. That was exciting. I am grateful to each one of you who supports me in any way. It encourages me immensely! Thank you!

On September 5th we had to say goodbye to one of our beloved pups, Rollie. My heart hurts even as I write this, but he is not suffering, and that’s what’s important.

We left out the other day for my hometown in Jersey. We stayed the night with family in Virginia then continued north. We are spending as much time as possible with friends and family in the short time we have.

While we are here I am doing a book presentation and signing for Banderidge and Gidesha City at the West Deptford Public Library on September 15th. It’s not the library I grew up going to, but thankfully that one still exists across the street and is being used for something else. The newer library is wonderful and if you are in the area, I recommend you stop by for a visit.

Real quick, I want to share two more upcoming events. On September 24th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Jackson Madison County Library, I will participate in Book Fest 2022. I have looked forward to this since I started my writing journey. Local authors set up at the library to share about their writing journey, sell, and sign books. It’s a great time for readers to support local! Then on October 6th at noon, I will present my books at the First Thursdays Friends of the Library Noon Review. I hope to see my local friends at one or both of those 🙂

So, now for the insider information! I mentioned in my August 31st blog that the title of my second book, Gidesha City, has special meaning to me. I want to let you know why before I start sharing it at the upcoming events.

In 2004, I lost a very dear friend to leukemia. I met her about 5 years after moving to Tennessee and we hit it off. We got each other. We were definitely friend soulmates. Her name is Alesha Giddens Hodge. I took Gid from Giddens and esha from Alesha and combined them to make Gidesha. After trying to decide on a title for the book, this came to me and I went with Gidesha City. And that is why it is special to me 🙂

I hope you are enjoying Gidesha City and if you are, tell a friend!

Til next time. . .
