Time Flies on a DEadline

Hey there friends! Wow! July, already? Really? I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun, or have a deadline and think you are more ready than you are. Yes, that would have been me from the middle to the end of June.

Listen. I’m going to be honest here, if you know me and have been following my journey, you know I’m new to this writing/author stuff. I guess going through the process with my first book, Banderidge, made me more comfortable and familiar, but eh, maybe a little too confident as well. Noted.

I need you to know that my editor, Shelley, with Shelley’s Editing Service, is chill. She was not quite as concerned about my manuscript being there by midnight on July 1st as I was. Spoiler alert…it was not there at midnight on the 1st, as a matter of fact, it arrived at 3 a.m. on July 2nd.

Was Shelley concerned? No. Was I? Yes and no. I pride myself on being dependable, reliable, accurate, and, well. . .all the first-born characteristics. I’m a work in progress y’all. Anyway, my  win–I didn’t stress in the final days as I would have in the past, and my loss–I didn’t meet my “deadline.”

I worked for an attorney one time and approached her with something I didn’t do and she asked me if anyone died. Of course, they didn’t, so she wasn’t near as distraught as I was. It all worked out. My point, my manuscript is with my editor, and no one died.

God has been working on me since the day I gave care of my heart to Him. Did I always allow Him to work on me? No. Did I finally get that His way is abundantly better than mine? Yes. Is it uncomfortable and does it sometimes hurt as He molds me into the creation He intends me to be? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely!

When I came to Him, I became a new person. Then, I surrendered and gave myself over to Him, and the new creation began to show. Surrender. Allow Him to mold you into the person He created you to be!

Quick update: I will be working on book 3 this month while Shelley has my manuscript. (I will be ready for her next time lol) I’m scheduling more book signings and trying to spread the message shared in Banderidge.

You can help spread the message as well by telling others about Banderidge, leaving a review on Goodreads and/or Amazon, and sharing about it on social media! Thank you to everyone who has bought, read, and spread the word about Banderidge! Thank you for sharing your stories of how it has touched you! Keep those stories coming!

Til next time. . .

  1. I am amazed how you are scheduling book signings for your first book Banderidge, 2nd book at the editors and starting work on the 3rd! Wow! More amazing is God’s grace and glad you give Him acknowledgment for all your accomplishments!

    1. Yes, ma’am, it’s all by the grace of God. I cannot do it on my own for sure! Thank you for your kind words.

  2. Makes me think about time doesn’t pause nor wait no matter the circumstances. Jesus knows this as he lived in our time for a while. So there is abundant grace for us. Looking forward to the 2nd book. Do you have a name for it yet?

    1. So true! Thank You, Father, for Your grace! I do have a name for my second book and it will be revealed along with the cover options soon 🙂
